Lead Poisoning Prevention

Effective July 1, 2020, Child care providers are required to complete an EMSA-approved Lead Poisoning Prevention training for licensing. Lead poisoning is one of the most common environmental illnesses among young children. Around 1 in 100 children under age 6 years old in California are found to have blood lead levels that could be harmful. (CDPH, 2015). Childhood lead poisoning can lead to problems with learning, behavior, and growth.

 

This 1-hr training includes information on the sources, symptoms and prevention of lead poisoning. (If you are licensing for the first time, this unit is now included in the 8-Hr Preventative Health and Safety Training.)

 

 Attendees must wear a face mask at all times, bring a blue/black ink pen and valid photo I.D.

 

Payment in advance is required. Checks are accepted when received up to 14 days prior to the class date. Mail a check or money order to: Safety Council, 6004 N. El Dorado St., Stockton, CA 95207-4349. You may pay with cash (exact change required) during normal office hours.

 

If seats are available, cash or money orders will be accepted at the council office only for last minute reservations during the 14 days prior until 11:30am two business days prior to the class date. Check the office calendar for special closure dates/times.

 

The council makes every effort not to cancel/overbook classes & to respect your time. Tuition is not refundable or transferable to a different date.  Attendees may be substituted with 24 hour notice.  No walk-ins are admitted on the day of the class. Class will begin without delays due to latecomers.
