Bloodborne Pathogens

This course has been developed to train those who may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens in compliance with the OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).

Bloodborne Pathogens class is required by those individuals that have exposure/contact with human blood, internal body fluids, unfixed tissues, or other potential human infectious materials as well as contact with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) or other bloodborne pathogens.

Typically this includes first aid responders, custodians, plumbers, health care providers, EMTs, laboratory researcher working with these materials and Chemical Hygiene Officers.

Bloodborne Refresher training is required annually for each employee or student whose work meets the above criteria and has routine potential exposure. The routine potential for exposure at NMSU is defined as working with these materials more than once per month.

Payment in advance is required. Checks are accepted up to 14 days prior to the class date. Mail a check or money order to: Safety Council, 6004 N. El Dorado St., Stockton, CA 95207-4349. You may pay with cash (exact change required) during normal office hours. If room is available in the class during the week before the class date, cash or money orders will be accepted at the council office only for last minute reservations until noon on the day prior to the class date. The council makes every effort not to cancel or overbook classes. Therefore,tuition is not refundable or transferable to a different date.No walk-ins are admitted on the day of the class.
